Thanks so much again to Bob and Patti Duncan for sharing their home and knowledge with me while I was visiting Whitby! In 2004, there had been some very bad flooding in the immediate area near Whitby and Jonben. The results of this flooding have revealed alot of the rails that I really thought were gone. So, I drove into Whitby, and right at the church, I stopped. Through the road were rails. In fact, these rails had not been totally removed. They had been paved over. Furthermore, they went into the church yard and beyond.
FINALLY
. There were rails and the best part was, they had NOT all been taken away. Those tracks really made the town I remembered. The best however, was yet to come.
