This page is dedicated to another part of the Halstead Cemetery at Whitby WV. This stone is at another location at Whitby and was, in my opinion, VERY difficult to access. It was very special to see this stone and to know that the Halstead family was vital to the growth and creation of Whitby WV. This is a DRAFT so there will be many changes and additions.
I would like to thank Bob and Patti Duncan for helping me around Whitby, Fireco, Jonben, Willabet and Coal City. Their support made this trip possible and certainly more enjoyable. Secondly, Thanks to Dee Wheaton and her unique historical book "The Whitby Halsteads". This book is incredible as far as depth and detail of the Halstead family and its history. None of the following information would be possible without Dees book. NOTE: The grave stone will not show the Massey name. However, the Massey family was intertwined with Whitby history as well. To the best of my knowledge, this second location contains only William and Jane Halstead. Please do let me know if I am mistaken. The incription of Prepare to meet me in heaven was most touching.
