Thanks to Ginny and Bob Lilly, we now can see the tipple as it was in 1954 at Whitby. This was a very modern facility in its day. The facility had what was called a Menzies Hydro seperator for coal cleaning. R & F Coal Company owned by Robert and Fredia Saye reports that on 12-13-63 the tipple burnt down.
