Smith and Stover Coal
I want to thank Bob and Patti Duncan for opening their home to me and driving me around Whitby so I could get these pictures.
Smith and Stover was another mining operation at Whitby along with Sterling Smokeless. The Smith and Stover operation was a bit more on the outter part of Whitby. Sterling Smokeless was what appears to be the dominant operation. While I do not know the date that Smith and Stover started operation, I do know that during the 1970's, these two companies were both active in Whitby at the same time.
