The photos below were taken with permission. Looking out a window 25 years ago, there would have been a tipple and the fog that covered the houses in the morning would be there. There would have been a wonderful sweet sulphur like smell of soft coal which was being loaded. In fact, click here to see the Tipple as it would have looked from this window.
From the porch, 25 years ago, I would be a little chilly in the morning. I would sit and listen for Grandad. He always woke up first. He would light the stove and the day would start.
